Epilepsy treatment near me - Epilepsy Program - Seizures in Children - Child Neurology Consultants of Austin

Epilepsy Program

From new onset seizures to seizures that are difficult to treat, the Epilepsy Program at Child Neurology Consultants of Austin is here to improve your child’s quality of life by achieving the best seizure control possible. Our priority is providing patients and their families the most convenient, comfortable, and positive experience while receiving expert care from highly experienced neurologists and epileptologists.

Although seizures should be addressed with urgency, visits to an emergency room are inconvenient and often unnecessary. Our providers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergencies.

What Sets Us Apart

Our affiliations with local and national epilepsy providers and associations allow us to offer patients a variety of treatments and resources including access to research. Several of our physicians are faculty at Dell Medical School — helping to train the next generation of doctors. Our group also collaborates with three different level IV epilepsy centers, the highest level of epilepsy care available:

  • Dell Children’s Medical Center
  • St. David’s Healthcare
  • Texas Children’s Hospital

New Onset Seizure Services

Seizures in children can be scary and stressful for parents. Just like you, we want answers. CNCA offers expedited appointments with a neurologist as well as ongoing education and resources. Treating epilepsy can be challenging since each child is unique and will respond differently to various kinds of treatment. That’s why we work closely with parents to find the best treatment plan for the child and family.

What if My Seizures Continue?

All of our neurologists treat patients with epilepsy. For seizures that are difficult to control, our specially- trained epileptologists perform in-depth epilepsy evaluations that may include a variety of treatment options from surgery to minimally invasive options.

Team Approach

Patients in our Epilepsy Program are managed by a network of multiple pediatric subspecialists. Our physicians participate in multidisciplinary epilepsy case conferences at local and regional hospitalsto discuss your child’s care. We also jointly-direct the multi-disciplinary tuberous sclerosis center, which became a designated site by the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance in 2012. This team approach offers comprehensive care designed to improve a child’s function and quality of life.

We are proud that Child Neurology Consultants of Austin is a sought-after site for clinical research related to epilepsy. This gives our patients the opportunity to participate in clinical trials, bringing the best care possible to our patient families.

Community Involvement

We strongly support the Epilepsy Foundation’s mission to overcome challenges of epilepsy and assist as board members and through sponsorships. Our physicians and staff also enjoy volunteering at Camp Brainstorm and frequently give epilepsy talks to local and national audiences.
