Dr. Meeta Cardon is a pediatric neurologist, neuromuscular specialist, and electromyographer.
She is a magna cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University with a bachelor of science in molecular and cellular biology. It is at Vanderbilt where she first became interested in neuroscience while studying the development of the neuromuscular junction in fruit flies, Drosophila. Dr. Cardon later attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio to earn her medical degree, followed by a residency in pediatric neurology at Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine. She also completed a pediatric neuromuscular fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Cardon has aspirations of caring for children with neurologic conditions, contributing to innovations in their treatment, and teaching physicians in training while continuing to educate herself about this fast-evolving field. She is honored to direct the MDA care center for children in Austin/Central Texas and serves on faculty at Texas A&M College of Medicine.
Dr. Cardon possesses fluency in Spanish as well as Hindi.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking up New Mexico Green Chile recipes with her husband and geocaching with her children.
