Aaron L. Cardon, MD - Child Neurologist - Child Neurology Consultants of Austin

Aaron L. Cardon, MD

Board-Certified Child Neurologist

Dr. Aaron L. Cardon graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a degree in psychology. He then pursued his medical education at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and continued there with his clinical training. He completed his child neurology residency in 2015, followed by a clinical neurophysiology fellowship in 2016.

During his medical training at Baylor, Dr. Cardon conducted extensive research measuring and quantifying intracranial electrical changes associated with behavior, culminating in a master’s degree in neuroscience (M.Sc.) awarded along with his medical doctorate (M.D.). His practice and research use this experience to search for biomarkers from surface EEG, intracranial EEG, and clinical data that will help to better predict outcomes of surgery for pediatric patients with medically-refractory epilepsies.

Following his time in Houston, Dr. Cardon most recently served as a Clinical Instructor of Neurology in the Division of Child Neurology at Stanford University and the Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital before joining Child Neurology Consultants of Austin.

He is an active member of the American Epilepsy Society and the Child Neurology Society.

Dr. Cardon grew up in the mountains of northern New Mexico where he developed early attachments to snowboarding and the regional Hatch green chile peppers. He courted his wife with Hatch enchiladas and tacos, and they now enjoy dreaming up and perfecting new recipes for the peppers by the time their daughter Leena is old enough to enjoy them.
