We are thrilled to announce our newest team member, board-certified child neurologist, Dr. Richard Hussey. It’s exciting to bring such an experienced specialist to Child Neurology Consultants of Austin. Recruiting a seasoned professional is a reflection of our commitment to make exceptional neurological care accessible to young patients.
Dr. Hussey has had an exemplary career including 25 years of service with the United States Army most recently with the San Antonio Military Medical Center where he once served as Chief of Child Neurology and then as a civilian contractor after retiring from active duty.
He is experienced in treating complex neurological issues in children and has a special interest in epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and spasticity as well as neonatal neurology. Dr. Hussey has also contributed to much research related to these neurological conditions.
Dr. Hussey earned his medical degree at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his pediatric training in San Antonio, TX. His fellowship training in Child Neurology and Neurophysiology were completed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.
